I didn't even know the Central Denver Public Library had a 7th floor!
Find the elevators, take a ride up to the 7th floor, and you'll swear you just walked into a major art museum. (and it's free!!!)
Currently on view is "Masterpieces of Colorado". I rarely say this, but every single painting is truly beautiful. It's a great collection of Colorado landscapes, that has been touring for quite some time. It originated at Fort Lewis College in Durango last February, and its final stop is the Library until May 23rd.
Joe Arnold's work (example above) was probably my favorite of the contemporary artists. His canvases are sculptural - curved toward you, as to echo the view of the mountains.
The whole show is truly dazzling, and beautiful. Also the view from the 7th floor, of City Park is not to be missed. Bring a friend, check out a book, and enjoy the show.
